Where you find what you need
There are several shopping centers in Santa Marta offering a wide range of clothing stores, supermarkets, electronics stores, telephone companies, movie theaters, jewelry stores, bookstores, large food courts, and children's activities, along with everything you'd expect from large city malls. The three best-known are Good View and Ocean Mall in Santa Marta, and Reef in El Rodadero.
Like any vacation, sometimes you need a break from the sun and sand. For families with young children, there are playgrounds with trampolines, slides, and other play areas where kids can burn off energy.
The movie theaters are also excellent, with comfortable seats and VIP sections with reclining chairs. One of Santa Marta's best-kept secrets is the Arrecife Cinema. It has multiple screens and there are almost no lines.
